PREACHING IN MOVING BUSES IN GHANA: A HIDDEN SAFETY RISK WE MUST TALK ABOUT By : Honeybrowne Okaakyire INTRODUCTION: A COMMON SCENE WE OFTEN IGNORE If you live in Ghana, especially in busy cities and places like Accra, Cape Coast, Nkawkaw, Takorade, Kumasi, Kasoa, Koforidua or even along the Eastern corridors, then you’ve probably experienced this: you board a trotro or commercial bus, settle into your seat, and just as the vehicle begins moving, someone stands up and starts preaching loudly and noisily. For many, this feels normal. Some even welcome it as a way to hear the Word of God. Others tolerate it quietly. But very few people stop to ask a critical question: Is this practice safe? What many Ghanaians do not know is that preaching in a moving vehicle is not just a social or religious matter, it is actually a legal issue tied directly to public safety.
